Genesis: Fragment Lock is an edition of 5 ERC-721 tokens on Ethereum, on TRANSIENTLABS. This license covers what a holder of one of those tokens may do with the artwork.
1. What you own
When you hold a Fragment Lock token, you own that token. You do not own the copyright in the artwork. The artist keeps all copyright and all rights not granted here.
2. Display
While you hold the token, you may display the artwork for personal, non-commercial use: on your own screens and devices, in your wallet, on marketplaces, on social media, as a profile image, and in virtual galleries.
3. Exhibitions
You may show the artwork in exhibitions, gallery shows, and museum shows, including events that charge entry, as long as the work is credited "Fragment Lock, @RarePatterns, 2026" and you are not selling copies of it.
4. Personal prints
You may make physical prints or displays of the artwork for your own private display. You may not sell, give away as merchandise, or edition those prints. A print does not carry the token, the license, or a certificate of authenticity. Only prints issued by the artist are authorized physical editions.
5. Transfer
You may sell, give, or transfer the token. These rights move with the token to the next holder. When you no longer hold the token, your rights under this license end, except that you may keep and show records of your past ownership.
6. Shared edition
Fragment Lock is an edition of 5. Every holder has the same rights. No holder gets exclusive rights.
7. Not allowed without written permission from the artist
- commercial use, including merchandise, advertising, product packaging, or brand use;
- selling, licensing, or distributing copies of the artwork, its frames, or its sound;
- making derivative works, remixes, or adaptations, or minting any token based on the artwork;
- using the artwork, its frames, its sound, or its code to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any AI or machine learning model, or to build datasets;
- using the "RP" mark, the @RarePatterns name, or Rare Pattern Signal branding in a way that suggests endorsement, other than to credit the work.
8. What the artist keeps
The artist may reproduce, display, perform, and distribute the artwork for portfolio, promotion, press, exhibitions, books, and archives, and may issue authorized physical editions or other formats. TRANSIENTLABS also has a license under its own Terms of Service to display and promote the artwork.
9. The code
The token gives no rights to the source code or the generator. The code stays private unless the artist publishes it under its own license.
10. Changes
The artist may grant collectors more rights later. The artist will not reduce the rights in this version for tokens already issued.
